A mani update only two days after the last one?  A miracle!  Well, I had some time on my hands and decided to just get the pictures done of my current mani.  I actually forgot to photograph the swatches...eek.  Well, I'll do that later since there will be so much more to swatch tomorrow (Llarowe & Lush Lacquer orders are being delivered!).

I put this on yesterday...and, oh my gosh, love.  This is Seuss from Whimsical Ideas by Pam and, yes, it's inspired by Dr. Seuss.  This is actually a jelly polish so it took a bit of effort to build up the color...and get the glitter placement correct, but the end result is so worth it.  I think this is three or four coats of Seuss on its own--such a beautiful color!  The jellly effect gives an awesome depth with the glitter being sandwiched between jelly layers--yum.  I also konaded a feather design over my accent fingers with a England's Saint George and added a little bow near my cuticle for a small dose of cute.

Since my nails are getting longer (again) they're becoming even more eye-catching (more people at work have begun noticing my nails) and hazardous.  My goal is to, ultimately, preserve their length until Bethany's wedding so I can do something fun and outrageous (Japanese nail art perhaps...?), but who knows with how careless I am with my nails at work.

a England - Dragon

I've already admitted this to [personal profile] these_ordinary_days ...but I didn't think I'd like a England's Dragon very much.  The color isn't one I'd typically go for, but I couldn't resist it after I saw swatches of its holographic awesomeness.  I swear looking at nail blogs and having access to sites that sell indie polish is very bad for my wallet!  Anywho, I decided to give it a go after seeing it sit on my shelf for a couple weeks (I honestly got distracted by all Enchanted Polishes that came in).  Like the other two a England polishes I have (Saint George, Lady of the Lake), Dragon also goes on smoothly--the formula on these holos are AMAZING.  I'm seriously blown away every time I use them.  It was a one coater, but I decided to do two to be safe.  And since I can't leave very well alone, I konaded a design with Saint George for accent on one nail of each hand.  I've actually been wearing Dragon for three days--two of these days consisted of vigorous typing, paper shuffling, and nail-damaging activity at work, but, as you can see, it's holding up like a dream!  There is only some very minor tippage (tip wear), but it looks like I've just painted them.  Awesome awesome awesome.  I cannot say enough good things about a England!

I went to Longs Drugstore recently and took the time to really comb the Beauty section.  I noticed that Revlon has released and re-released a whole bunch of their nail enamels--even those that were limited edition glitters!  I finally got my hands on Whimsical, a supposed Deborah Lippmann Glitter in the Air dupe.  However, Facets of Fuchsia and Blue Mosaic, two that I already own, have been re-released under different names.  Even the third glitter from that limited collection, Starry Pink, was re-released as Popular.  Facets of Fuchsia has become Scandalous and Blue Mosaic is now called Radiant.  The shade Naughty is a re-release of Perplex and is also supposed to be a dupe of Chanel's Paradoxal.  I didn't pick up Popular (Starry Pink) because I found it dull...the glitters in it weren't sparkly and it was unappealing.  I suppose it would be a nice subtle polish, but light pinks really aren't for me.  Apparently, the Revlon polishes are getting better in quality.  I wasn't a big fan of the formula for Facets of Fuchsia (it was too watery and thin), but I heard that the new formulas are good.  Some even cover in two coats!

I also stopped by the Konad section as all Konad products were 30% off.  I decided to get some nail stickers since I barely have time to do nice nail designs this semester.  You'll be seeing them on my nails soon! ^^

Truthfully, I was also on the hunt for the new Garnier BB Creams.  I did find them at Longs, but they were $14.39 instead of the retailed $12.99.  I will probably purchase this from Target since it'll be retail price.  ^^

Tomorrow marks the beginning of the Spring semester and the start of my first semester of graduate school--fun.  I was planning on doing something that involved crazy, colorful dots, but it was taking too long for my brain to process and I just decided to do some simple stamping.  I haven't used my Konad tools in a long while, so this was overdue, but the new plate and polish I bought stamps like a dream~!

I obviously didn't do a good job of cleaning around my cuticles, but when you're doing your nails at 4 in the morning...anything looks good.

Colors used:
☀  Nicole by OPI It's All About the Glam
☀  Konad black special stamping polish
☀  Konad plate m77

Here's to tomorrow and the beginning of something new!
